T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2021 with 239 tenders and a 49.7% share, followed by Power Plant with 100 tenders and a 20.8% share and T&D Project with 75 tenders and a 15.6% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 29 tenders and a 64.4% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 16 tenders and a 35.6% share.

Thermal is top technology for Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders in Q4 2021

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, thermal accounted for 36 tenders with an 80% share, followed by solar with nine tenders and a 20% share.
