The project was developed by Energias de Portugal. Engie and Mirova are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40% and 25% respectively.
Miranda Douro is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 28.1 million cubic meter. The project generated 898 GWh of electricity.
