Description

The project was developed by Empresa Misicuni and Korea Electric Power. The project is currently owned by Empresa Nacional de Electricidad Bolivia with a stake of 100%.

Misicuni is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 150 million cubic meter. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 3,800m. The penstock diameter is 1.6m. The project generated 270 GWh of electricity.

Contractors involved

Rainpower was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of pelton turbines, each with 40MW nameplate capacity.

Indar Electric supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 49.5 MVA.
