Mosul Main Dam is a 750MW hydro power project. It is located on Tigris river/basin in Nineveh, Iraq. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1981 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1986.

The project is currently owned by Government of Iraq.
The hydro reservoir capacity is 11,110 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 73.5m. The project generated 2,420 GWh of electricity.

The project construction commenced in 1981 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1986.
Contractors Involved
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis turbines, each with 187.5MW nameplate capacity.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions supplied electric generator(s) for the project.
