Description

The project was developed by 8minute Solar Energy and Silver Ridge Power. The project is currently owned by TerraForm Power.

Mount Signal Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 1,963 acres.

The project generates 500,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 65,000 households, offsetting 356,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $636m.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2012 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in May 2014.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to San Diego Gas & Electric under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years from 2014. The contracted capacity is 200MW.

Contractors Involved

Abengoa was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.

First Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 3,100,000 modules at the site.

Elettronica Santerno supplied 138 inverters to the project site.

Array Technologies, First Solar and SatCon Technology have PV trackers for the project.

Swinerton Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
