Description

The project was developed by Mt Poso Cogeneration. The project is co-owned by DTE Energy Services and Macpherson Energy, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

The project generates 327.624GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 45,000 households.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

The project consists of 1 turbine with 44MW nameplate capacity.

Development status

The project got commissioned in February 2012.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Pacific Gas and Electric under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Contractors involved

Sumitomo SHI FW Energia supplied steam boiler for the project.
