Narv is a 125MW hydro power project. It is located on Narva river/basin in Leningrad, Russia. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1950 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1955.

Description

The project was developed by JSC Lenhydroproject. Gazprom Energoholding and Fortum Power and Heat are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51.79% and 29.45% respectively.

Narv underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2013-2015. The project generated 694.594 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $326m.

Contractors Involved

Power Machines was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of kaplan turbines, each with 48MW nameplate capacity.

Power Machines supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 52 MVA.
