Negrete Cuel is a 33MW onshore wind power project. It is located in Bio Bio, Chile. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in February 2014.

Description

The project was developed by Mainstream Renewable Power. Actis and Mainstream Renewable Power Chile are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.

The project generates 96,800MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 55,000 households, offsetting 32,500t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $70m.

The project has 100m high towers.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in February 2014.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Sistema Interconectado Central under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Contractors Involved

Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 22 units of GW 1.5/87 turbines, each with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.

Mainstream Renewable Power is the O&M contractor for the wind power project.
