Bujagali Energy will commission its first generation unit at the 250MW Bujagali hydro power plant in Uganda next month.
Final commissioning of the 50MW is expected to be complete in April 2012.
The project will provide additional generation capacity to meet the nation’s power needs, reports Dow Jones.
Bujagali Energy is a joint venture between the Ugandan government and Kenya-based Industrial Promotion Services and US-based Sithe Global Power.
