Midwest Wind Energy has started the construction of an 80MW wind farm in Nebraska, US.

The $145m Broken Bow Wind project will be owned and operated by Edison Mission Group.

Nebraska Public Power District will purchase the facility’s electric output under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The facility will be powered by 50 wind turbines mounted on 80m high towers, each capable of producing 1.6MW of power at peak output.

Construction of the project is scheduled to be complete by November 2012.
