Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received an order from First Reserve to deliver turbines for 298MW Kingfisher wind project in Oklahoma, US.
According to the contract, Vestas will supply and commission 149 of its V100-2MW turbines at the facility.

The firm will also be responsible for a ten-year active output management service.
Delivery for the turbines is expected to be completed by late 2015.
Situated in Canadian County, Oklahoma, the Kingfisher project has a consistent wind resource.
On starting commercial operations, the facility will generate enough energy for approximately 100,000 households.

By GlobalDataFirst Reserve has agreed to take over the project from Apex Clean Energy, which is expected to manage construction and serve as asset manager during the facility operation.
First Reserve managing director and head of infrastructure funds Mark Florian said: "First Reserve is pleased to be making one of the initial investments in its second energy infrastructure fund.
"Kingfisher Wind represents the opportunity to diversify the portfolio of our energy infrastructure programme with experienced and reliable counterparties, such as Vestas."
Vestas had earlier delivered 49 V100-2 MW turbines to Apex for the Hoopeston wind project in Illinois, which was acquired by IKEA.
