Description

The project was developed by ST-CMS Electric and is currently owned by TAQA Neyveli Power Company Private with a stake of 100%.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The fuel is procured from Neyveli Lignite Mine.

The project generated 1,879,000MWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in December 2002.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution under a power purchase agreement for a period of 30 years. The contracted capacity is 250MW.

Contractors Involved

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project. The company provided 1 unit of STF25 steam turbine with 250MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power supplied TOPGAS electric generator for the project.

AE&E Group supplied steam boiler for the project.

Abu Dhabi National Energy is the O&M contractor for thermal power project for a period of 30 years.
