T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q2 2020 with 323 tenders and a 47.1% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 249 tenders and a 36.3% share and Energy Storage with 45 tenders and a 6.6% share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 153 tenders and a 61.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 95 tenders and a 38.2% share
- Project Implementation: one tender and a 0.4% share.
Thermal is top technology for North America generation equipment tenders in Q2 2020
Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the North America region, thermal accounted for 242 tenders with a 97.2% share, followed by solar with five tenders and a 2% share and hydro with two tenders and a 0.8% share.
