Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q3 2020 with 69 contracts and a 28.3% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 63 contracts and a 25.8% share and Power Plant with 43 contracts and a 17.6% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 32 contracts and a 74.4% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 11.6% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: four contracts and a 9.3% share
  4. Power Purchase Agreement: two contracts and a 4.7% share.

Solar is top technology for North America power plant contracts in Q3 2020

Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 28 contracts with a 65.1% share, followed by wind with seven contracts and a 16.3% share and nuclear with four contracts and a 9.3% share.
