The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement with 11 contracts and a 44% share
  2. Project Implementation: eight contracts and a 32% share
  3. Electricity Supply: four contracts and a 16% share
  4. Supply & Erection: two contracts and an 8% share.

The US tops North America solar power contracts activity

The US was the top country in the North America region for solar technology contracts recorded in January 2020 with 24 contracts and a 96% share, followed by Mexico with one contract and a 4% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:

  1. Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association (United States): 615MW from five contracts
  2. Amazon.com (United States): 81.96MW from one contract
  3. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky,: 50MW capacity from one contract.
