Description

The project was developed by Northwind. Aspiravi, Parkwind and Sumitomo are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 30% and 30% respectively.

The wind turbines in the North wind I are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The wind turbines in the North wind II are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the phase.

The project generates 850,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 230,000 households, offsetting 240,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in 2013.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Electrabel under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

North wind (North wind I) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind BZD80-2000 turbines. The phase consists of 43 turbines with 3MW nameplate capacity.

North wind (North wind II) is equipped with Vestas Offshore Wind V112-3.0 MW turbines. The phase consists of 29 turbines with 3MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 15 years.
