Description
The project is developed and owned by Akuo Energy.
The project generates 153GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 37,559 households, offsetting 82,380t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $87.7m.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in February 2019.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Electricite de France under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.
Contractors Involved
Aalborg Energie Technik was selected to render EPC services for the biopower project.
Aalborg Energie Technik was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 unit of Bleed cum Condensing Turbine turbine with 20MW nameplate capacity.
Aalborg Energie Technik supplied steam boiler for the project. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 527°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 122bar.
Aalborg Energie Technik is the O&M contractor for the project.
