Omarugawa is a 1,200MW hydro power project. It is located on Omaru river/basin in Miyazaki, Japan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 2007.

The project is developed and owned by Kyushu Electric Power.

Omarugawa is a pumped storage project. The gross head of the project is 646m. The project cost is $2,925.36m.

The project got commissioned in 2007.

Contractors Involved

Hitachi Mitsubishi Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 turbines, each with 300MW nameplate capacity.

Hitachi Mitsubishi Hydro supplied 4 electric generators for the project.
