Description

The project was developed by Algonquin Power & Utilities and Geronimo Wind Energy. Algonquin Power & Utilities and InfraRed Capital Partners are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

The project generates 832GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 10,500 households, offsetting 368,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project has 80m high towers.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in July 2016.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Northern States Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2016. The contracted capacity is 200MW.

Contractors involved

Wanzek Construction was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 100 units of V110-2.0 MW turbines, each with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2016, for a period of 10 years.
