Ponovice is a 68MW hydro power project. It is planned on Sava river/basin in Central Slovenia, Slovenia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

The project is being developed by Srednjesavske elektrarne. Holding Slovenske elektrarne, Savske elektrarne Ljubljana and GEN energija are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60%, 30% and 10% respectively.

The gross head and net head of the project will be 19.5m and 18.8m respectively. The project is expected to generate 215.4 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $340.109m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
