Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the top position in terms of number of contracts during August 2020 with a 47.9% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 94 contracts and a 63.1% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 28 contracts and an 18.8% share
  3. Supply & Erection: 20 contracts and a 13.4% share
  4. Electricity Supply: six contracts and a 4% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 0.7% share.

Europe leads solar contracts activity in August 2020

Comparing contracts activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 90 contracts and a share of 60.4% during August 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with 31 contracts and a 20.8% share and North America with 22 contracts and a 14.8% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Solar technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (Afghanistan): 3,000MW from one contract
  2. NTPC (India): 1,170MW from four contracts
