Nuclear technology contracts activity in Q1 2020 saw 26 contracts announced, marking a rise of 63% over the last four-quarter average of 16, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, nuclear held the sixth position in terms of number of contracts during Q1 2020 with a 3.4% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Nuclear technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

1. Consulting & Similar Services: eight contracts and a 30.8% share
2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: eight contracts and a 30.8% share
3. Supply & Erection: seven contracts and a 26.9% share
4. Project Implementation: three contracts and an 11.5% share.

Europe leads nuclear contracts activity in Q1 2020

Comparing contracts activity in nuclear technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 14 contracts and a share of 53.8% during Q1 2020, followed by North America with six contracts and a 23.1% share and Asia-Pacific with four contracts and a 15.4% share.

In fourth place was South and Central America with one contract and a 3.8% share and in fifth place was Middle East and Africa with one contract and a 3.8% share.
