Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, hydro held the fourth position in terms of number of contracts during Q2 2020 with a 6.3% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Hydro technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 28 contracts and a 45.9% share
  2. Project Implementation: 15 contracts and a 24.6% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: 12 contracts and a 19.7% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 6.6% share
  5. Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 3.3% share.

Europe leads hydro contracts activity in Q2 2020

Comparing contracts activity in hydro technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 22 contracts and a share of 36.1% during Q2 2020, followed by Asia-Pacific with 21 contracts and a 34.4% share and South and Central America with nine contracts and a 14.8% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Hydro technology for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved were:
