Description

The project is being developed by Apraava Energy. Apraava Energy and Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.

The electricitiy generated from the plant will offset 828,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $260.452m.

The Hybrid structure to be installed at the project site are expected to be 140m high.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2020. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.038kWh for a period of 25 years. The capacity to be procured is 250.8MW.

Contractors involved

KP Energy and Suzlon Energy are expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Suzlon Energy will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company is expected to provide 120 units of S120-140 turbines, each with 2.1MW nameplate capacity.

Suzlon Energy is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the wind power project.
