Description

The project is being developed by Oma Power Generation. Geometric Power and GE Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel will be procured from Accugas Limited.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 500MW.

Contractors involved

China Machinery Engineering is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the gas fired power project.
