Description

The project was developed by Energoprojekt Niskogradnja and is currently owned by Landsvirkjun hf.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 140 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 74m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 3 in number. The penstock length is 110m. The project generated 920 GWh of electricity.

Contractors involved

Energomashexport was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 50MW nameplate capacity.
