Puerto Libertad Power Plant is a 632MW gas fired power project. It is located in Sonora, Mexico. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in August 1985.

The project is currently owned by Comision Federal de Electricidad with a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Guaymas Pipeline. The project underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2014-2015.
The project generated 1,815,000MWh of electricity.
The project got commissioned in August 1985.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 632MW.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project.
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions supplied electric generator for the project.
Mitsubishi Power supplied steam boiler for the project.
