Rabigh Gas Turbine Power Plant is a 1,680MW oil fired power project. It is located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 2008.

Description

The project is currently owned by Saudi Electricity.

It is a gas turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is crude oil. In case of shortage of crude oil the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil.

The project got commissioned in 2008.

Contractors Involved

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for thermal power project. The project consists of 28 units of 7E.03 turbines, each with 60MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power supplied 7A6 electric generator for the project.
