Rani Awanti Bai Sagar is a 90MW hydro power project. It is located on Narmada river/basin in Madhya Pradesh, India. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1988.

The project was developed by Narmada Valley Development Authority and is currently owned by Madhya Pradesh Power Generating with a stake of 100%.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 3,920 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 56.4m and 47.85m respectively. The project cost is $332.94m.

The project got commissioned in 1988.

Contractors Involved

Bharat Heavy Electricals was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 45MW nameplate capacity.

Bharat Heavy Electricals supplied 2 electric generators for the project.

Narmada Valley Development Authority is the O&M contractor for the hydro power project.
