Description

The project was developed by Austrian Energy & Environment (Australia). Stanwell and W.H. Heck & Sons-Rocky Point are currently owning the project.

The project generates 160GWh electricity thereby offsetting 130,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Rocky Point Biomass Power Plant is a combined heat and power (CHP) project. Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Alstom was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 turbine with 30MW nameplate capacity.

Alstom supplied steam boiler for the project. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 510Degree Celsius. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 7MPa.
