The project is currently owned by Engie Brasil Energia with a stake of 100%.

Salto Osorio is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 1.24 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 72m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 6 in number. The penstock diameter is 7.4m. Salto Osorio underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2005-2007. The project generated 5,968.32 GWh of electricity.

The turbines for the hydro power project have been supplied by Hitachi Mitsubishi Hydro and Mitsubishi.

Hitachi Mitsubishi Hydro supplied 6 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 194.5 MVA.
