Description
The project was developed by San Carlos BioPower and is currently owned by ThomasLloyd Group with a stake of 100%.
The project generates 141GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 212,000 households, offsetting 16,480t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $90m.
The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in 2019.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to National Transmission under a power purchase agreement. The power is sold at the rate of $0.15kWh for a period of 20 years.
Contractors Involved
Wuxi Huaguang Electric Power Engineering was selected to render EPC services for the biopower project.
Harbin Turbine was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 unit of Condensation Type turbine.
Wuxi Huaguang Boiler supplied steam boiler for the project. The boiler installed at the site has a capacity of 70TPH. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 540Degree Celsius. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 98bar.Shandong Jinan Power Equipment Factory supplied the electric generator for the project.
Poyry Energy is the O&M contractor for the project.
