Description
The project is currently owned by Sasol Synfuels International with a stake of 100%.
It is a CCGT with Cogen power plant.
The project cost is $326.25m.
The Gas fired project consists of 1 steam turbine with 80MW nameplate capacity.
Development Status
The project got commissioned in July 2010.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
Group Five was selected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.
GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 2 units of PG9171 gas turbines, each with 100MW nameplate capacity.
GE Power supplied electric generator for the project.
Siemens Heat Transfer Technology supplied steam boiler for the project.
GE Power is the O&M contractor for thermal power project for a period of 15 years.
