Scroby Sands is a 60MW offshore wind power project. The project is located in North Sea, England, the UK. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2003 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in March 2004.

Description

The project was developed by E.ON UK and is currently owned by RWE Renewables with a stake of 100%.

The wind turbines in the project are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the project.

The project generates 204,984MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 41,000 households, offsetting 67,802t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2003 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in March 2004.

Contractors Involved

Vestas Celtic Wind Technology was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 30 units of V80-2.0 MW turbines, each with 2MW nameplate capacity.
