Sembcorp Sirajganj Combined Cycle Power Plant is a 424.5MW dual-fuel fired power project. It is located in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in October 2018.

The project is developed and owned by Sembcorp North West Power. The company has a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on High Speed Diesel Oil. The fuel is procured from Pashchimanchal Gas Company Ltd.

The project cost is $412m.

Sembcorp Sirajganj Combined Cycle Power Plant (Sembcorp Sirajganj Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase II) consists of 1 steam turbine with 142.5MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in October 2018.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Bangladesh Power Development Board under a power purchase agreement for a period of 22 years.

Contractors Involved

Sembcorp Design and Construction and SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction were selected to render EPC services for the dual-fuel fired power project.

Sembcorp Sirajganj Combined Cycle Power Plant (Sembcorp Sirajganj Combined Cycle Power Plant Phase I) is equipped with Mitsubishi Power M701F4 – 50Hz gas turbine. The phase consists of 1 gas turbine with 282MW nameplate capacity.

Mitsubishi Electric supplied electric generator for the project.

Mitsubishi Power is the O&M contractor for thermal power project.
