The Sese Coal Fired Power Plant is 950MW coal fired power project. It is planned in North-East, Botswana. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. The project construction is likely to commence in 2023 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

The project is being developed by Sese Power. First Quantum Minerals and African Energy Resources are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 66.7% and 33.3% respectively.
It is a steam turbine power plant. The fuel will be procured from Sese Block-C.
The project cost is expected to be around $1,485.93m.
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the Sese Coal Fired Power Plant (Sese Coal Fired Power Plant Phase I Unit I) will be sold to ZESCO under a power purchase agreement.
The power generated from the Sese Coal Fired Power Plant (Sese Coal Fired Power Plant Phase I Unit II) will be sold to ZESCO under a power purchase agreement.
