Description
The project was developed by Caithness Energy. Caithness Energy, Google Energy and Sumitomo are currently owning the project.
The project generates 180,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 227,000 households, offsetting 1,500,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $2,000m.
Development Status
The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in February 2012.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Southern California Edison under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2012. The contracted capacity is 845MW.
Contractors Involved
Blattner Energy was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.
GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 338 units of 2.5-100 turbines, each with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 10 years.
