Shuwaikh Emergency Power Plant is a 252MW gas fired power project. It is located in Al Asimah, Kuwait. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in June 2007.

Description

The project was developed by HPI and is currently owned by Ministry of Electricity and Water, Kuwait with a stake of 100%.

It is a Gas Turbine power plant.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in June 2007.

Contractors Involved

HPI and S&W Energy Solutions were selected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 6 units of LM6000 gas turbines, each with 42MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power supplied electric generator for the project.
