Solarcentury Talayuela Solar PV Park is a 300MW solar PV power project. It is located in Extremadura, Spain. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2020 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in January 2021.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Encavis and Solarcentury Holdings. The company’s ownership stake in the project stands as 80% and 20% respectively.

Solarcentury Talayuela Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 520 hectares.

The project generates 570GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 150,000 households, offsetting 165,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $252.591m.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Red Electrica Corporacion under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 830,000 modules each with 340W of nameplate capacity.

The project is utilising single axis trackers supplied by Soltec Energias Renovables.
