Description
The project was developed by Fopeca Ecuador and is currently owned by Hidropaute.
Sopladora is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 385.52m and 362.56m respectively. The project generated 2,806.78 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $800m.

The project construction commenced in 2011 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2016.

China Gezhouba Group was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
China Gezhouba Group was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 162.6MW nameplate capacity.
China Gezhouba Group supplied 3 electric generators for the project.
