The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection with ten contracts and a 40% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: eight contracts and a 32% share
  3. Project Implementation: seven contracts and a 28% share.

Chile tops South and Central America solar power contracts activity

Chile was the top country in the South and Central America region for solar technology contracts recorded in Q3 2020 with 12 contracts and a 48% share, followed by Brazil with five contracts and a 20% share and Colombia with four contracts and a 16% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in South and Central America were:

  1. COPEL – Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Brazil): 260MW from one contract
  2. Teck Resources (Canada): 72MW from one contract
  3. Ecopetrol (Colombia): 59MW capacity from one contract.
