It operates as the pillar of energy system in Macedonia. ELEM generates electricity by using various sources, including hydro, thermal energetic recourses, coal, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy. The company operates various thermoelectric power plants, hydropower plants and wind mill across Macedonia. ELEM also operates coal mines for electricity, namely, Oslomej, Suvodol, Brod-Gneotino and Zivojno.
