Stornorrfors is a 599MW hydro power project. It is located on Ume river/basin in Vasterbotten, Sweden. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1958.

Vattenfall and Umea Energi are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 75% and 25% respectively.

The gross head of the project is 75m. Stornorrfors underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1985, 2010. The project generated 2,298 GWh of electricity.

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 135MW nameplate capacity.
