Description
The project is developed and owned by PT Tanggamus Electric Power.
Sumatra Island is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 117.74m and 110.73m respectively. The penstock length is 528m. The penstock diameter is 4m. The project generated 278.97 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $125.667m.

The project construction commenced in 2015 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2018.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to PT PLN (Persero) under a power purchase agreement for a period of 30 years.
Contractors Involved
POSCO Engineering was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines.
Voith Hydro Holding supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 33.3 MVA.
