The Summit Matarbari CCGT Power Plant is 2,400MW gas fired power project. It is planned in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. The project construction is likely to commence in 2021 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2023.

Description
The project is being developed by GE Power, JERA Asia, Mitsubishi and Summit Power International. Summit Power International, Mitsubishi and GE Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 55%, 25% and 20% respectively.
It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant.
Development Status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2023.
Contractors Involved
GE Power will be the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company is expected to supply 9HA model gas turbines for the project.
