Tawau Biomass Power Plant is a combined heat and power (CHP) project. Agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 2005.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Sabah Electricity Sdn under a power purchase agreement for a period of 21 years. The contracted capacity is 10MW.

Contractors Involved

Babcock & Wilcox Volund supplied steam boiler for the project. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 402°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 66bar.
