Teesside Offshore is a 62.1MW offshore wind power project. The project is located in North Sea, England, the UK. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2012 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in August 2013.

Description

The project was developed by EDF Renewables. The project is currently owned by EDF Renewables with a stake of 51%, Dalmore Capital and Pensions Infrastructure Platform.

The wind turbines in the project are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the project.

The project generates 200,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 40,000 households, offsetting 80,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $207.849m.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2012 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in August 2013.

Contractors Involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 27 units of SWT-2.3-93 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.

EDF EN Services UK and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
