Teesta Lower III is a run-of-river with pondage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 18.36 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 21.34m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 4 in number. The penstock length is 44m. The penstock diameter is 7m. The project generated 594.07 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $289.897m.
