The project is being developed by TransAlta. The project is co-owned by Montem Resources and TransAlta, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

Tent Mountain Pumped Hydro Power Plant is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 3.55 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 320m and 288m respectively. The project is expected to generate 2,560 GWh of electricity.
