The project is currently owned by Prime Termoflores S.A.S E.S.P with a stake of 100%.
It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel. The fuel is procured from Sociedad Portuaria El Cayao S.A. E.S.P. (SPEC).
The project generated 2,917,231MWh of electricity.
Development status
The project got commissioned in February 1995.

The power generated from the project is sold to Empresa De Energia Del Pacifico under a power purchase agreement.
